Demko’s Wedding and the Canucks in Attendance

Trent Leith / July 21, 2022

Not since Adam Gaudette roundhouse kicked his new bride in the face while giving her a lapdance, has as much fun come out of a Vancouver Canucks player’s wedding. After their engagement last summer, Thatcher Demko and Lexie Shaw Demko tied the knot on July 16th, 2022.

It’s the offseason, JT Miller is still a Canuck and the biggest splashes of free agency have come and gone. We’re in the dog days of summer, but Demko and his lovely bride gave us something to talk about over the weekend.

This is a far cry from the “serious” and analytical approach that we normally take to articles at, but it’s mid-July and we are looking to have some fun. So please indulge us as we take a look at the star starters’ wedding.

In attendance were teammates old and new including Quinn Hughes, JT Miller, Brock Boeser, Jordie Benn, Troy Stetcher, Tyler Myers, Jack Rathbone, and Tanner Pearson and both Zack MacEwen and Ashton Sautner were in the wedding party.

Fans on social media have pointed out the absence of some big names from the Canucks including Bo Horvat and Elias Pettersson, and as everything does on Twitter, it caused some outrage.

Despite what was happening on Twitter and behind phone screens it looked like everyone in attendance was having a lot of fun.

Everyone out that night was looking sharp, but Thatcher broke the big rule and stole the show in his white tuxedo jacket and sneakers. Leaving all eyes on him, and not Lexie.

It’s clear that Demko learned a lot from his former mentor Jacob Markstrom both on how to be a number one goalie in the NHL and how to steal the show at a wedding.

Brock Boeser showed up in baby blue pants, sneakers and locks as luscious as ever. This is more evidence that Boeser continues to slowly transform into Prince Charming from Shrek.

Both of us at are hoping for a great season on the ice and an even better one off of it for Thatcher and Lexie. Congrats to the happy couple, and thanks for all the fun on social media!
