The Canucks Clinch Playoff Berth

By: Trent Leith / March 30, 2024

The Canucks have officially clinched a playoff berth after failing to do so on Tuesday night while playing against the LA Kings and Thursday playing the Dallas Stars.

But the third time is the charm.

On Saturday night, the Canucks were not playing, but the out-of-town scoreboard helped them lock their playoff berth when the Minnesota Wild lost to the Vegas Golden Knights and the St. Louis Blues lost to the San Jose Sharks.

The Canucks have not hosted a playoff game in nine years, so it is safe to say, fans are extremely excited to watch their team battle in the postseason. The Canucks technically made the postseason in the COVID-19 Bubble Season. But the NHL had to modify the rules to get the Canucks into the playoffs to allow them qualification for a one-time play-in round, where the Canucks beat the Minnesota Wild to officially play in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Canucks clinched after playoff tickets went on pre-sale on Thursday and Friday and remain open today, though the selection is both expensive and sparse.

Get your towels ready folks, the playoffs are officially right around the corner.
